The events committee is responsible for scheduling professional speakers and other events (making contacts, reserving rooms, etc.), helping further interaction between SIE members and professionals, and relaying relevant information to other committees as needed. The committee is always searching for future events that fulfill SIE's goals and member needs.
The alumni committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with SIE Alumni. The goal of this committee is to get SIE alumni more involved in SIE and create contacts for possible speaker events and job and internship opportunities for members.
The responsibilities of the committee members include creating an SIE Alumni newsletter sent two times per semester and maintaining the Alumni database contact information to ensure this information is up to date.
Members use their abilities to benefit the community that we work, study, and play in. We reach out to the community in various ways. The Ronald McDonald House is our main charity and we are working to build a strong, long-lived relationship with them.
The Finance Committee provides SIE with the majority of its funds. We organize fundraisers such as a car wash and a raffle as our main source of funding. We also raise money through acquiring donations and grants.
The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting and retaining members. The committee maintains records of current members and alumni, takes attendance at SIE events, and keeps members updated on their status.
The committee is also responsible for recognizing and awarding member achievment. The Membership Committee is in constant contact with other committees to maintain updated information.
The Public Relations committee's function is to promote SIE and its events. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: maintenance of the SIE board, creating promotional flyers, SIE web site maintenance, maintaining a photo gallery, and slide show creation for the banquet.
